Ostrava

Ostrava, the third largest city in the Czech Republic, is a dynamic metropolis with a rich history, industrial heritage, and a modern spirit.

This vibrant city is strategically located in the northeastern part of the Czech Republic, near the borders with Poland and Slovakia. As a major transport hub, it’s an ideal place for business, innovation, travel, and international cooperation. Ostrava is constantly evolving, with new projects, modern architecture, and the revitalization of public spaces drawing both investors and tourists. The CITYSITE Ostrava project is a key part of this development.

Revitalization of the Brownfield

CITYSITE is being built on a previously declining industrial site, which we are revitalizing and restoring to full life. Revitalizing brownfields is a core part of our approach. We venture into areas that others overlook, transforming them to meet ecological standards, with an emphasis on sustainable development. Only through this approach can we preserve these places for future generations.

History of
the Site

19th century

The Hrušov area was a significant industrial location, known for coal mining and metallurgy. This shaped its development for many years.

1997

Devastating floods hit Hrušov and the surrounding area, leading to the abandonment of many buildings and the decline of the region. The floods caused severe damage to the infrastructure and contributed to the area becoming a brownfield. The site remained in decline for a long time thereafter.

2018

A significant improvement came with the arrival of CONTERA, which began a thorough revitalization of the unused brownfield, heavily burdened with ecological issues.

2019

The site preparation included thorough soil remediation and the removal of old buildings. This created the conditions for the development of the modern industrial CONTERA Park Ostrava D1.

2020

Construction began on the first warehouses and infrastructure of the modern logistics park developed by CONTERA.

2022

The first modern storage and production spaces were completed, with CONTERA Park Ostrava D1 starting to serve its tenants.

2023

CONTERA Park Ostrava D1 has established itself as one of the key logistics hubs in the region, thanks to its location near the D1 highway and proximity to the center of Ostrava. The park continues to develop and attract new investors due to its strategic location and modern facilities.
